STRETCH Classes

ISB supports supplementary strength, stretch and conditioning classes for young aspiring dancers as a beneficial addition to their training. We strongly encourage our students from Primary level and above to participate.

Dancers who regularly attend stretch classes spend time developing:

  • strength to gain control of movements

  • strength of main muscle groups

  • flexibility and endurance

  • feet, ankles and turnout strength and flexibility

  • proper muscle engagement

  • aesthetic fine tuning increasing performance capabilities

Schedule:

  • Primary - Saturdays @ 11:00am - 11:30am

  • Grade 1 - Tuesdays @ 6:45pm - 7:15pm

  • Grade 2 - Wednesdays @ 5:45pm - 6:15pm

  • Grade 3 - Mondays @ 6:00pm - 6:30pm

  • Grade 4 - Mondays @ 5:00pm - 5:30pm

  • Grade 5 - Saturdays @ 2:30pm - 3:00pm

  • IF/Inter - Thursdays @ 6:45pm - 7:15pm

  • Adv Stretch - Fridays @ 5:00 - 5:30pm



Master ClassES

The International School of Ballet offers Master Classes for students enrolled in RAD Intermediate (or equivalent) and up.
These classes are non-syllabus classes, that are aimed to develop artistry within the students.  
Classes are offered in the Vaganova and Cecchetti techniques.
Master classes are also open to non-ISB students and adults citywide.

Schedule:

RAD Intermediate Level and Up (or equivalent) are eligible to attend Master Classes.

ADULT BALLET CLASSES - BEGINNER

Adult Ballet - Beginner class is a program aimed at individuals 16 years of age and over who seek to move their body using the classical ballet language and technique. In adult ballet classes, individuals will learn the fundamentals of classical ballet technique and demonstrate these movements at the ballet barre, in the centre, on the diagonal and use small jumps.

The benefits of classical ballet are countless: posture, muscle strength, stretching, concentration and memorization, coordination, body awareness and musicality. The practice of classical ballet involves body and mind - improving your quality of life.

The International School of Ballet offers Modern Classes to supplement students classical training.


Modern Classes will follow the Limón technique.

The Limón technique is based upon the movement style and philosophy of theatre

developed by modern dance pioneers, Doris Humphrey and Charles Weidman.  

Of all the modern techniques, the Limón technique is the most beneficial for dancers classical training.

Silver Swans

The International School of Ballet offers Silver Swan classes to older learners so they, too, can take part in ballet classes. Whether you are an experienced dancer, have briefly dabbled or are a complete novice, we welcome all older learners of any ability to try our Silver Swan classes.
